FMP- Torture (Based On Abu Ghraib)

My FMP was driven by my fascination of the prisoners held in the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. The level of abuse they receive by personnel of the 372nd Military Police Company of the United States Army together with additional US governmental agencies are beyond horrific including, punching, slapping and kicking detainees; forcibly arranging them in various sexually explicit positions for photographing; using military working dogs (without muzzles) to intimidate and frighten, and in the least one case biting and severely injuring a detainee.

Using the acts committed within the Prison facility I wanted to create a series of posters to promote and stop the abuse in Abu Ghraib and raise awareness in general around us.

My intial approach is to start with illustrations, I wanted to challenge my self and build my skills with working with a pen rather the use the mac. At a later date I will eventually import it into Illustrator and add other elements such as Typography etc.
